Former Arabian Gulf Coast Guard Vet, James Martin, Releases Statement on Today’s Air Strikes
HOBE SOUND, FL — Following American air strikes on Iranian soil, James Martin releases a statement on Trump’s air strikes. Martin served as second in command of CGC Monomoy, forward deployed to the Arabian Gulf from 2017-2018.
“I believe the Iranian regime is evil. I stand with the Iranian people, support Israel’s security, and deeply respect our servicemembers. But none of that requires silence in the face of what looks like a reckless rush to war, one that has not been explained or justified to the American people,” said James Martin.
“From my time serving in the Middle East and at the White House, I know there are hard-nosed ways to confront Iran without sending American kids into harm’s way: enforce sanctions, isolate the regime globally, support Iran’s democracy movement, and apply sustained pressure. Instead, this Administration appears to have engaged the U.S. military in strikes to herald regime change with no Congressional authorization, no clear mission, and no exit plan. That’s not strength, that’s recklessness. Our troops and the American people deserve better.”
